Intangibles Legal is a law firm founded in Barcelona in 2014 and dedicated to the legal advice on industrial and intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright, etc.), unfair competition, advertising, technological contracts, telecommunications law, privacy and personal data protection, including representation in legal proceedings in these areas.

Sergio Miralles

Sergio es socio fundador de INTANGIBLES. Cuenta con más de veinte años de experiencia en el ámbito de la propiedad industrial e intelectual y las tecnologías la información (IP/IT), trece de los cuales como responsable del Departamento de IP/IT en España de Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Inició su carrera profesional en Uría y Menéndez. Es miembro del Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona desde el año 1995.

Sergio tiene una dilatada experiencia en prácticamente todas las áreas de la IP/IT. Lleva años asesorando y representado a compañías multinacionales en litigios de patentes, marcas, propiedad intelectual y competencia desleal, entre otras áreas. Asimismo, asesora regularmente en relación con cuestiones contractuales y regulatorias y ha participado en numerosas operaciones de M&A transnacionales.

Formación

Sergio estudió la Licenciatura de Derecho en la Universidad de Barcelona, cursando parte de su formación en la Università degli Studi di Bolonia gracias al programa “Erasmus”. En 1995 completó con calificación de “merit” estudios de postgrado en materia de propiedad industrial (LL.M. in IP) en el Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London (Reino Unido) gracias a una beca de “La Caixa/British Council”.

En el año 2011 Sergio obtuvo el Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) tras defender un trabajo de investigación sobre cuestiones jurídicas de las secuencias genéticas.

Publicaciones, conferencias y actividades docentes

Sergio es autor de diversos artículos, los más recientes en materia de patentes y Big Data. Ha sido ponente en numerosas conferencias y seminarios y desde hace años combina su trabajo con la docencia. En concreto, ha colaborado con la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona y actualmente colabora con la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid en el Máster de Propiedad Intelectual, Industrial y Nuevas Tecnologías.

Sofía García Pascual

Formación

Sofía obtuvo su doble licenciatura en Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales en la Universidad ESADE, cursando parte de su formación en el extranjero. En 2018, Sofía completó las asignaturas Public International Law y Law of the Internal Market en la Universidad Sciences Po (Francia). Asimismo, en 2019 cursó las asignaturas The Role of Force in International Politics y United Nations Peace Operations en Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Estados Unidos). Finalmente, en el 2021 realizó el programa de “Erasmus” en la Université Catholique de Louvain (Bélgica).

Sofía ha cursado el Máster de Acceso a la Abogacía con la especialización de Nuevas Tecnologías y Propiedad Intelectual en la Universidad ESADE tras defender su Trabajo Final de Máster sobre la Ciberseguridad en las Pymes Españolas.

Ana Macía

Formación
Ana estudió Derecho en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Durante su formación académica realizó una estancia internacional en University of Illinois, EE.UU., la cual le proporcionó un enfoque mucho más global sobre los diferentes sistemas jurídicos. Su trabajo de Final de Grado versó sobre la problemática del plagio de los diseños en el mundo de la moda y su enfoque en las diversas ramas de la Propiedad Industrial e Intelectual. Además, ha cursado el Máster de Acceso a la Abogacía, a la vez que un máster de especialización en Propiedad Intelectual, Industrial y Nuevas Tecnologías, ambos en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Durante el mismo, Ana ha publicado su primer artículo sobre derecho marcario en el metaverso y NFTs.

Sergio Miralles

Sergio is founding partner of INTANGIBLES. He has twenty years’ experience in intellectual property and information technologies (IP/IT), thirteen of them as head of the IP/IT Department in Spain for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He started his career in Uría y Menéndez. He has been a member of the Barcelona Bar Association since 1995.

Sergio has a vast experience in almost all areas of IP/IT. As far as litigation is concerned, he has advised and represented multinational companies in patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition proceedings. He has also been involved in a number of multijurisdictional transactions and deals. He regularly advises on contractual and regulatory matters, including data protection.

Studies

Sergio obtained his Law degree from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). He studied part of his degree at Università degli Studi di Bolonia  through the EU Erasmus programme. Having completed his Law degree, Sergio was awarded with a La Caixa/British Council scholarship. He read his LL.M. in IP at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London United Kingdom) in 1995 with the qualification of merit.

Sergio obtained a Diploma in Advanced Legal Studies in 2011 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) after defending a research paper on legal issues related to gene sequences.

Publications and seminars

Sergio is the author and co-author of a number of articles on IP/IT, the most recent ones related to patents and Big Data. He has given a number of conferences and seminars. He has also given lectures at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and in the IP & New Technologies LL.M. of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Sergio regularly participates in the Fordham IP Conference. In 2014 he was invited to participate as panellist and in 2015 as speaker.

Sofia obtained her double degree in Law and Global Governance at ESADE University, pursuing part of her educational studies abroad. Ana Macía

Studies
Ana studied law at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. During her academic degree she made an international stay at the University of Illinois, USA, which provided her with a much more global approach to the different legal systems. Her Final Degree work dealt with the problem of plagiarism of designs in the fashion world and its perspective in the various branches of Intellectual Property. She has also completed a Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession, as well as a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property, Industrial Property and New Technologies, both at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. During the same, Ana has published her first article on trademark law in the metaverse and NFTs.
